The Rose Garden is my go to for Chinese food in the Roseville Citrus Heights area. This is a long established place.tonight We got food to go and I introduced my neighbors to this great food. They had some new things they wanted to try and I had them try some of my old favorites. We got Mushu pork Lemon chicken. Hot and sour soup and Hong Kong noodles. I have to say the Hong Kong noodles are my favorite thing in the world and very hard to find! They are kind of a curried ramen style noodle with pieces of pork. Everybody loved them! the lemon chicken I had never tried before. It was OK. A little sweet for me. The mushu pork is always good. Friendly service, food ready when you get there nothing to complain about here. Prices are a little high nowadays, but that's the way of the world I think.

This review is limited by us having only tried two dishes .... But one of them (fish in black bean sauce) was KILLER. Probably the best I have ever had, and I've had that dish all over the U.S. It was fresh, the sauce was light, none of that crazy-greasy-Americanized-deep-fried quality that is everyyywhere these days. The second dish was Sizzling Rice Soup made with seafood instead of the traditional chicken beef pork shrimp. I didn't love it - the shrimp were good but the imitation crab and calamari were not very tasty and the broth was missing that full flavor Profile that comes with varied meats. I wish they offered a traditional and a seafood. The fish fillet was so good I'm going back asap to try more dishes. I will update once I do!

I was visiting family in Roseville this last weekend and they were so excited to bring me here. I absolutely love Chinese Food so I am always down to try a new place that comes highly recommended! First thing walking into the restaurant, I could see this is not one of those Chinese places where they all rush you in to be seated and order, and don't talk to you. These guys are super friendly! It reminded me of the old-school Chinese restaurants I went to as a kid with my parents and siblings where we went there for years, they all knew us by name, and it was like coming home to old friends every time. Already a really good start! Also, it has a prerequisite aquarium! To me one of the marks of a good Chinese restaurant is if it has the aquarium! Now onto the food! My local family ordered the cream cheese, wontons, which they were raving about, Mongolian beef, chicken, chow mein and cashew chicken. I threw in my favorites: potstickers, Mushu pork, and honey walnut prawns. Yeah, we were really hungry! First, I have to say the cream cheese wontons are absolutely divine and I loved them so much. I also loved the sweet-and-sour sauce that accompanied it. I could've seriously made a meal on that alone. I also really like the chicken that they use for the dishes. It's a white meat chicken and it's cooked well tender and juicy and that was nice. No sketchy chicken! My favorites were the cashew chicken, the Mongolian beef, the cream cheese, wontons, and honey walnut prawns. The honey walnut prawns in particular were done very well, and are one of the best versions I've had, and I've had a ton! The next day we went for lunch, before I went home. I wanted to try more dishes! This time we ordered the cream cheese wontons again, because I think you know why! Also Chinese, chicken salad, orange chicken, and pork fried rice. Highlights for me for this meal was the salad and the orange chicken. The orange chicken had a very delicious glaze on it and I just really love the way they cook their chicken nice big plump pieces. The Chinese chicken salad was not a traditional version, but it was nice and refreshing. Overall, I really liked this place and it will be a good place to go to when I visit my family that live there. Both times I went there. the place was busy and had big tables full of family and friends with the lazy susan spinning around - another mark of a good Chinese place! Apparently they have been around for a long time and seem to be a local favorite. I know I will definitely be back!

Ordering togo was easy, peasy! Customer service is A+++ We called and ordered on the phone. We've always heard amazing things about this Chinese restaurant, so we had to give it a try... For our order: Dumplings with dipping sauce Eggrolls with sweet &sour Spring rolls with sweet & sour Broccoli & beef Kung pow chicken Orange chicken Walnut shrimp Fried rice White rice Chowmein Soy sauce packets Chili oil to go cups (ramekins) When we picked up our to go order, it was ready and bagged up for us. They even had all the sauces already in the bags and packets of soy sauce along with multiple to go ramekins of chili oil! I would love to sit inside & eat some time! Look at the size of these dumplings, and tasted better than most Dumplings I have had anywhere around here! Full of flavor in every bite! For the size, they packed the right amount of dipping sauce. The spring rolls and eggrolls were crunchy and came with sweet & sour to dip. The orange chicken and Kung pow were a little too similar. They were actually hard to tell apart. The Walnut shrimp was fantastic... big juicy shrimp covered in sauce. The broccoli was cooked perfectly for the broccoli & beef. I, as well as my guests, enjoyed the chowmein. I usually don't partake in eating rice because I enjoy mine so much, but it was really nice not to have to cook... and their rice is moist and perfectly cooked. Thank you for a wonderfully deliciously cooked dinner! We can't wait to dine in sometime!

Was thinking this is just an ordinary Chinese restau. Dim lighted. Round tables and booths. Waitresses gave good service, kept on going back and forth to us. Perhaps one thing, we are situated near kitchen aisle. Liked that she offered us booster seat and high chair even if we were not asking. We had cream cheese wanton, walnut shrimp, pork bbq fried rice, chicken fried rice, chicken curry, green beans with beef that came along with white rice. Yummy! We liked it. The curry is not that spicy, but, we liked it, it does not taste like other cuisine kind of curry. But more of chinese curry. All the rest of the food were yummy too. Got to notice they are close on Tuesdays. Liked that they gave fortune cookie for everyone, not just for adults. This is on my need-to-come-back list.
